Kind of like our own mini Fed Ex Cup points.Only a few of us keep a handicap so I was trying to figure out ways to even out the field and decided on doing the Callaway scoring system for the first few rounds and then make handicaps based on those first few rounds for the rest of the rounds.If you got any good suggestions on any formats that might be fun or any other method of scoring without handicaps, love to hear them!

1. May 30, 2004  Re: Calculating Callaway Handicap in Excel. The adjusted gross score was 107. According to the chart, a 107 is a -1 handicap adjustment, and you scratch the 4 worst holes, both numbers of which show up on the spreadsheet accurately. The problem is, the net score shows up as a 109, and this can't be right if you don't count.
2. Callaway is a popular scoring system used for one-time events where a number of competitors just don't have an established handicap. This is just the sort of situation confronted by organizers of corporate outings, benefit events or church tournaments.

Hello CharlesI am hoping that this will have a.zip file attached.The spreadsheet has three worksheets with two versions. The first two sheets are my version but you need only worry about the first page unless you want to increase the number of players which would need an adjustment on the calculation page as well.The third page uses the macro as outlined in the article you mentioned (with a correction of an error that the published version had). Extension of that one for more players is a little simpler as it just involves one lot of Copy/Paste rather than two.

When you open the spreadsheet you have to allow macros.If any of this will give you problems (for example including more players) let me know and I will try to help further. CharlesI have done a bit more work on my version to make it more self-contained and only use one sheet but I resorted to using named formulae to get there so it might be a little less understandable if you wanted to work out what it was doing. The attached file contains two files one with my formula method and one with the macro method.The other thing that I should mention. If you enter a score more than twice Par the cell will be highlighted.

With my version you have to adjust the value to double par whereas the macro version does the limiting within the macro.RegardsHarry.
