Skyrim Third Person Mod
I am trying to fix the third person crosshair alignment. I didn't really notice the problem until I turned off.
In third person, I have to aim my bow a little above and to the left to make an accurate shot. You will notice the problem if you are aiming at something and then switch from first to third person views.
The crosshair moves, but it should not. In Oblivion, the third person view was directly behind you and there was a mod that moved the camera a little to the right. However, the aim was off so someone else made a for that. Basically he modified 'hudreticle.xml' in oblivion/data/menus/main. (I found this forum that describes the changes he made). Problem is I could not find this file by unpacking Skyrim-Interface.bsa and Skyrim-Misc.bsa. So, I don't think we could use the same fix for Skyrim.

Cool 3rd person camera set up - posted in Skyrim Mod Talk: anyone else played around with the camera set up? After a lot of experimentation I settled on this - just paste into your skyrim ini (not skyrim prefs) for a better over the shoulder style action. Will suit archery experts with better eagle eye mod. Also you can zoom the camera back a very long way (looks cool to run around with the. There is a third person camera but it's purely cosmetics, the game is designed with first person in mind, especially the most important part of the game - combat.
Anyone, know of something similar in Skyrim that can be edited to fix this problem?Research:There is a that moves the 3rd person camera, but I don't think he fixes the problem. There is a that tells how to aim using the messed up crosshair, but that is not what I'm looking for.I also found people with the on related posts, but no one seems to have an answer. (There are people asking the same question on reddit, but don't know if I'm allowed to post the link here).I also use the tweaks described, but I don't think that is the problem. Thanks in advance.Edited by drail1602, 18 December 2011 - 02:51 AM. Bumpity Bump because I HATE (And I don't use that word lightly) the fact that I've just as good a chance of hitting my target by taking the time to align and aim my magic as I do just aiming in the general area.
Speaking as a pure-mage, it's very frustrating to shoot off a Fireball, be down 1/4th of my mana and to have alerted the entire dungeon as to where I am. Archers have another hundred arrows in their quivers, I can only unload five or six blasts of magic before I need to start imbibing my potions or hiding. =/I fully endorse and bump the idea of fixing the Third Person Crosshairs.
/nodI wonder if the sprite for the cross-hair could just be replaced with one; a bit larger and with some empty space, that compensates for the third person view?. Whether either would be useful for study regarding third person, 2D crosshairs I have no idea BUT I'm almost certain that the mod authors for those two would be willing to point you in the right direction of what to do next.Thanks. I have seen those, but quickly dismissed them. I don't think that they will help us 2D players since they are drivers for NVIDIA 3D. But, maybe I need to look at them again.
Those fix the z-axis of the cross hair. Maybe the cross hair is messed up because it is on the wrong plane. I will PM those guys and see if they can help.

But, I created a new char that is illusion/conjuration mage and found out something new. When I was using a bow in the right hand (Mouse2 = Right hand) the arrow shot a little to the right.
The spells work the same way. When shooting a spell with the left hand (Mouse1 = Left hand) the spell hits a little to the left.
You guys probably knew that, but I guess we just have to figure out how to the move the crosshair down without moving the camera. Btw, here are the Skyrim.ini camera variables (Edit at your own risk):CamerafOverShoulderCombatAddY=fOverShoulderCombatPosZ=fOverShoulderCombatPosX=fOverShoulderPosZ=fOverShoulderPosX=Edited by drail1602, 07 January 2012 - 06:06 AM. I've been playing around with the camera tweaks. Default values shown (From Seamless over Shoulder).fOverShoulderCombatAddY= -100 unsheathed, moves camera forward (positive) or backward (negative)fOverShoulderCombatPosZ= 20 unsheathed, moves camera up (positive) or down (negative)fOverShoulderCombatPosX= 0 unsheathed, moves camera right (positive) or left (negative)fOverShoulderPosZ= -10 same as above but weapon sheathedfOverShoulderPosX= 30 'The problem with the 3rd person cross hair is when you move the camera, the cross hair gets messed up.
But you have to move the camera so you can see what you are hitting. If you make the Combat tweaks all zero the cross hair is the same as first person, but your body blocks the view. I moved the camera out to the right and down so the views match for sheathed and unsheathed (over the shoulder)fOverShoulderCombatPosZ= -10fOverShoulderCombatPosX= 30It moves the cross hair down to a more reasonable height, but you have to aim a little to the right for an accurate shot. I think it's easier to use, but a lot of people are against the over the shoulder view.I also made fOverShoulderCombatAddY= 0 so the camera doesn't move back when unsheathing.Let me know if this is working better for you guys. If you don't like the changes, just delete the lines you added and it will go back to default.
What this mod does:3rd Person Camera Overhaul (3PCO) aims to fix the stiff, unmoving vanity camera of vanilla Skyrim. In vanilla, the camera is locked to a fixed location above the character. This makes camera movement boring and action combat look static and unfun.
3PCO removes this anchor and allows the camera to follow the player, resulting in a more aesthetic view, especially in combat. Pt bumi nusa indah karya. When weapon is sheathed, the effect is subtle, but better than vanilla. When the weapon is unsheathed, the effect is much more pronounced and action-oriented. How 3PCO works:In modern AAA games, the camera is placed with respect to the world coordinates. This allows the camera to follow a player's world-coordinates. However, in Skyrim the camera is placed with respect to the player. This makes it much harder to make a smooth camera follow effect, because the camera would have to dynamically change its own position based on the player's speed and position.
Skyrim Third Person Archery Mod
Normally this requires alot of math that probably isn't possible or viable with Skyrim's camera scripting. This math is circumvented by specifying a position for the camera to go to based on whether the player is moving left or right. If the player is moving right, command the camera to pan left at a designated speed. This artificially recreates the smooth camera follow effect.Installation:First, install SKYUI: just use your favorite mod manager to install 3PCO, or copy the data folder to your Skyrim game's directory.Note: when updating from older version or customizable camera, make a clean save with neither camera mods installed. Run save script cleaner, then install the newest version of this mod.I also strongly recommend using Himika's Lock-On mod alongside this one: further enhance action combat gameplay, check out tkDodge, Mortal Enemies, and Wildcat + Deadly CombatUninstallation:Use the MCM menu's option to uninstall before removing the mod from your list. Upon loading your save, you may get a weird blue screen. Don't worry; just reload the same save (without exiting the game) and it should be back to normal.Compatibility:Any mods effecting 3rd person camera will not be compatible with this one.
This includes Customizable Camera. However, most features of Customizable Camera are planned to be added to this mod in the near future.Visible Favorited Gear is not compatible.First person camera is unaffected.
This means it is compatible with Enhanced camera and Joy of Perspective.A few users experience difficulties when using XPMSE with first person cam. The skeleton-swapping sometimes messes with how the cam registers. If you run into issues, you can still use the skeleton, but you have to disable the XPMSE plugin. Recommend using XPMS instead. GamePad Compatibility:Shoutout to YouTuber Inpa for making a step-by-step video on how to do this.support is difficult, because 3PCO relies on reading the direction your character is moving.
It's easy to do with keyboard but there is no easy way to do this with an analog stick (at least with Papyrus scripts). If you want to use a controller, use an external software, like XPadder, to map your controller's analog stick to your left-right keys on the keyboard.Known Issues:-3rd person FOV doesn't work.
