Modding Fallout New Vegas is Easy!Unlike Skyrim, Modding Fallout New Vegas requires a little bit more technical know-how. The modding community as a whole expects modders to read instructions, follow them to the letter, and spend time researching every little detail before starting to mod their game. Not only that, but they tell you to use tons of different tools and Mod Organizer (my mod manager of choice) is usually unmentioned or downright vilified by some mod makers.Just like with my Skyrim series, I decided to start my Modding New Vegas series out with a bunch of short videos sharing how to do the most important things. Installing NVSE, Getting ENB working, improving stability, and getting everything ready to place mods on top of.I highly recommend you watch the videos I provide, but I’ll write up the instructions underneath for those of you who prefer to read. I also recommend you follow this steps in order for best results. Installing NVSEThis is easily the most important mod we’ll be adding to the game and it isn’t even really a mod. Similarly to SKSE (the Skyrim Script Extender), NVSE provides modmakers with more scripts that they can utilize to manipulate the game engine for Fallout: New Vegas.Installing it is really simple.

Head on to download the files. I’m using the beta version and haven’t noticed any issues with it so far. You can use the stable version if you prefer.Once you’ve downloaded the file, extract it to your desktop. Copy the contents (all except for the src file) and paste them into the installation directory for Fallout: New Vegas (C://program files/steam/steamapps/common/fallout new vegas).Mod Organizer should automatically detect that NVSE has been installed (you may have to restart if you already had it open) and should appear in the dropdown menu.Non-Mod Organizer users will have to locate the nvseloader.exe and launch the game through that instead (put a shortcut on your desktop), at least until you complete the next step.

How To Install Enb Fallout New Vegas 4gb

Using the 4GB New Vegas UtilityThis utility essentially flags New Vegas as a really big file for your computer and tells it to use more ram (this is a simplistic explanation at best). The end result is a much more stable game that crashes less often. This utility requires NVSE be installed in order to work correctly. Installing 4GB Fallout New Vegas is simple.

Just download it and extract it to your desktop. Copy the.dll and the.exe and paste them both into your Fallout New Vegas installation location. For Mod Organizer users, you’ll now click the two gear icons at the top of MO. Then you’ll click the “” next to where it says “Binary.” Navigate to the New Vegas installation folder and select the FNV4GB.exe.

Type something Memorable in the box that says Title and then click add. This will add the 4GB New Vegas utility to the drop down menu on the right. From now on you’ll launch New Vegas through this and not through NVSE.Non-MO users will put a short-cut to the FNV4GB.exe on their desktop and launch through there. Feel free to get rid of the NVSE shortcut you made because you won’t need it any more. Setting Up ENBThis is an optional step.

Unlike Skyrim there’s no option to turn on ENBoost with using ENB graphics settings, so there’s no reason for users on Low-End computers to even bother installing ENB. Head on over to the. DO NOT click any button that says “download” on that page. Instead you should see some different version numbers beneath an ad. At the time of this post the most recent version was vo.267. You’ll click on the most recent number and that will take you to the download page. Scroll all the way to the bottom of that page and look for the black text that says “download” with an arrow facing down next to it.

This is what you will click to get your files.Once it’s downloaded, extract the files to the desktop. We’re only interested in the file that says “Wrapper Version.” You’ll open this file and copy everything except for the folder titled “enbseries.” Paste all of these files into your New Vegas installation directory. Now, if you’re installing an ENB preset, you’ll download the files you want from the nexus and copy-paste them into your New Vegas directory. It will ask you to overwrite existing files. Be sure to click yes!Launch ENB through Steam and in the Launcher head into the options. Turn off Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering. Head into the “advanced” section and turn of Transparency Multisampling. You may also want to head into the section for water and turn off water displacement.Close all this out when you’re done. Now head over to my documents my game falloutnv and copy the falloutprefs.ini.

How To Install Enb For New Vegas Without

Then head over to where you’ve installed Mod Organizer, locate the folder called “profiles” select your current profile and paste in this new file. Be sure to click yes when it asks you to overwrite. Configuring ENBoostObviously you can skip this if you’re not using ENB. For the rest of you, this is a really simple step, but you’ll have to repeat it every time you install a new ENB preset because the file we’re tweaking will likely get overwritten each time. Head into the New Vegas installation folder and locate the enblocal.ini. Open it and look under the section titled Performance.

There should be only one entry “SpeedHack” and it should be set to “true.” If it’s not, then go ahead and turn it on.Now under the section titled Memory find the entry that says “ReservedMemorySizeMb” and set it to 512. I’ve never needed to set mine to anything higher than that.In that same section, right under the last entry, there will be an entry that says “VideoMemorySizeMb.” This needs to be set according to your computer’s hardware. So you’ll want to right-click on your desktop and select “Screen Resolution” from the drop down menu. In the window that opens up, click the link that says “advanced.”In the window that pops up, under the “adapter” tab, you should see a section that says “Total Available Graphics Memory.” This is the number that you’re going to enter under “VideoMemorySizeMb.”Once you’ve done that, save the document and close it. You’ve now successfully configured ENBoost.

Making 4GB New Vegas work with Mod Organizer and ENB This section shouldn’t be skipped even if you’re not using ENB.By default, 4GB New Vegas and ENB don’t like each other and things can get even more complicated when you add Mod Organizer into the mix. But rest assured, getting everyone to play nice is relatively simple. The first thing you’ll want to do is head into Mod Organizer and click on the gear icons. Highlight the entry for 4GBNV that we made earlier.

Under the “arguments” field you’ll want to paste in the following text:-laaexe.FalloutMO.exeThen click “Modify” to save your changes. That takes care of getting MO and 4GBNV to work together. Now for ENB (you can skip this if not using ENB).Go ahead and start the game. At this point you will likely get a black screen and hear sound but see nothing. You’ll have to ctrl+alt+del to close the program. But it’s important that you do this step before moving on.If you don’t get this and instead everything works fine, make sure you’re seeing the ENB version information in the upper left corner of your screen.

If the version info isn’t there then ENB isn’t installed correctly. If it is there, then no worries. Close New Vegas and keep reading. Now you’re going to head into the control software for your video card (if you don’t have a video card then you probably aren’t getting the black screen error and you can skip on to the next step). I have an AMD video card but I imagine the steps are similar for Nvidia users. So for AMD users, just head into the Catalyst Control Center and under “Gaming” and “3D application Settings” create a new profile, navigate to the installation folder for New Vegas and find FalloutMO.exe. Make sure all the settings are set to “Use Application Settings.” Then close everything out. Cutting down the stuttering with New Vegas Stutter RemoverLast step and then you can start getting into the fun stuff.

Install

Download and enable it like any other mod. That alone should help things out quite a bit, but we’ll tweak things a bit to have a more obvious impact. The first thing you’re going to do is head to your desktop. Right click and create a new folder. Title it NVSE.Head inside this folder, right click and create a new text document.

Call it NVSE.ini. Open up this.ini file you just made and paste the following line inside: Memory DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB = 450Now save the document and close it. Head back to the desktop and right click on the folder you made. Send it to a compressed zipped folder. Now head into Mod Organizer and install it the way you would install any other third party mod. With that done, find New Vegas Stutter Remover in your Mod list.

How To Install Rudy Enb New Vegas Windows 10

Right click on it and select “information.” In the window that opens, click on the tab that says “file tree.”From there you’ll open the folders that say NVSE and Plugins and find the file that says srNewVegasStutterRemover.ini. Right click on that and choose “open.”Find the section that says “Heap” (it can be hard to read, but if you scan the text you should see it pretty quickly).

Near the bottom of that section is an entry that says “iHeapSize.” By default I believe it is set to 250, you’ll want to change it to 450. Click save and then close it.And you’re done!
